CASA ASIA

INTRODUCTION

Casa Asia is a public consortium created in 2001 and made up of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation , the Generalitat of Catalonia and the Barcelona and Madrid City Councils . This institution is headquartered in Barcelona, ​​and has a center in Madrid.

Casa Asia's objective is to contribute to a better understanding and the promotion of relations between the societies of Asia, the Pacific and Spain in the institutional, economic, cultural, and educational fields, in addition to facilitating the exchange of cultures, ideas and projects of common interest.

Throughout its history, Casa Asia has become a benchmark and meeting place with one of the most dynamic regions in the world: Asia-Pacific.

Activities and services

Casa Asia promotes projects to promote the internationalization of Spanish companies in Asia; analyzes current events in Asia through conferences; disseminates the diversity of Asian culture and performing arts through exhibitions, book launches and film series; educates in Asian languages ​​and disciplines with a wide range of courses and workshops, and brings this reality closer to the little ones through the Bamboo School, an intercultural and inclusive education project.

It also launches joint projects with Asian communities residing in Spain, collaborates in initiatives that defend diversity and interculturality, and is involved in bilateral forums with Asian countries, among many other activities.

The institution has a Media Library, a multimedia information and documentation center specialized in the Asia-Pacific region.
