Asia in Focus

Asia in Focus is an open access peer-reviewed journal published online by the Centre for East and South-East Asian Studies, Lund University.

The focal point of the journal is the modern Asian societies viewed from the standpoints of social science and humanities. The geographical focus is the Asian countries from Central Asia to Oceania excluding Australia and New Zealand. We aim at a high academic level in a concise, focused and readable form, and publish both academic essays and academic articles.

Asia in Focus was initiated by the Nordic Institute for Asian Studies (NIAS) to provide Master students and Ph.D. students affiliated to a Nordic institution a widely accessible and transnational forum to publish their findings. NIAS published eight issues of the journal between 2015 and 2020. Issue no. 9 was published by Lund University in 2023.

The journal is currently published once per year with a call for papers announced during the fall semester. For more information and current issues visit the journal webpage https://journals.lub.lu.se/asiainfocus.
