Dr. Michael Brown published a preliminary report (
PDF available) and an
online talk about his recent fieldwork at the mountain fortress of Rabana-Merquly, in Iraqi Kurdistan. The contributions were published, respectively, by the Mitteilungen der Deutschen Orientgesellschaft and the Berner Altorientalisches Forum. The research was carried out as a part of the DFG-funded project “
Parthian Imperial Control and Local Agency in the Central Zagros Highlands” (2019-2022), which builds upon Dr. Brown’s preliminary investigations within the HCTS
Transcultural Forays Fellowship programme.
